We make long-term decisions investing in land, the environment, our workforce and the communities in and around our operations.
This approach is well-suited to a robust long-term asset such as the oil palm. We combine an insistence on making long-term decisions with a relentless focus on operational detail consistently to produce the maximum amount of crude palm oil from well-managed and environmentally-suitable land.
Over time, we have developed a system of monitoring, reporting on and improving our operations. Our approach takes into account local circumstances, both physical and human, such as the size and number of local communities. Our Group is a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (“RSPO”) and the British Chamber of Commerce Indonesia.

Operational excellence extends to purchasing the right goods and services for our operations.
We have some 800 suppliers. These are nearly entirely Indonesian, with only five Malaysian suppliers. By value, we procure goods and services of some US$40 million, of which more than 99% is from Indonesian suppliers.
